After the sale, you receive a check for the proceeds and, if you choose, a completely clean house. Whatever we cannot sell we will either re-sell at our Thrift Store in Golden Valley, donate, recycle, or (if necessary) dispose of.

We will host the sale at your home and take care of the logistics around the sale. By the end of the sale, we’ll be able to determine the amount of your final check.

Step 5: Cleanout Day

On the days we agree our team will come to your home with a truck and all of the necessary gear to do a full cleanout. We’ll empty everything in your home, wall-to-wall. We’ll pack everything carefully and thoughtfully, whether we’re taking it to our thrift store for resale, or donating it to a local organization. Depending on the size of your home and the extent of the cleanout, this process can take anywhere from a few hours to multiple days.

On the days we agree our team will come to your home with a truck and all of the necessary gear to do a full cleanout. We’ll empty everything in your home, wall-to-wall. We’ll pack everything carefully and thoughtfully, whether we’re taking it to our thrift store for resale, or donating it to a local organization. Depending on the size of your home and the extent of the cleanout, this process can take anywhere from a few hours to multiple days.

We got into this business because we know that beautiful, lightly-used items that are old to one family can be brand new to another. With every cleanout, we have an opportunity to steward the planet and the environment by keeping treasures out of the landfill, and in family homes. We treat you and your heirlooms with the dignity and respect worthy of family. Whatever we cannot sell in our thrift store, we will do our best to donate. Whatever must be put in the trash we will dispose of carefully and consciously.

Hired Empty the Nest to clear out my parents’ house as we were getting ready to sell so my parents could downsize. The team that arrived on time were so awesome. Extremely friendly place. The concept is great they clean out homes for seniors moving out and sell the items. Every weekend there’s 10 new houses and always a changing inventory of items. I bought a China hutch solid wood with glass for $52 can’t find that deal anywhere! Many of the items need a face lift but that’s the fun of it
